Community Coordinator (Part-Time)

$6,000–$9,000 a year (Independent Contractor)
4–6 hours per week

Overview

Union Spiritual Community is seeking a part-time Community Coordinator to support the planning and coordination of community gatherings and events.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with volunteers, and interested in helping create meaningful, community-based experiences that bring people together around conversation, connection, and reflection.

You will help ensure that events and community activities run smoothly, while supporting communication and coordination across the team.

Responsibilities

Event Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate community gatherings and events

  • Manage event logistics including scheduling, setup needs, and preparation

  • Support smooth execution of in-person gatherings

Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit, schedule, and support volunteers

  • Communicate roles and expectations clearly

  • Help build and maintain simple volunteer systems

Communication Support

  • Manage basic community communications (email, social media, announcements)

  • Coordinate messaging with leadership and program facilitators

  • Help prepare and distribute event updates

Event Support & Facilitation

  • Provide on-site support during events

  • Assist in facilitating gatherings as needed

General Coordination

  • Track upcoming needs and deadlines

  • Communicate updates, challenges, and improvements to leadership

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Experience in event coordination, volunteer management, or community organizing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a spiritual or reflective community setting

  • Ability to manage multiple small tasks independently

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and collaborative
